Decadent Chocolate Fondue
fruit for dipping
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp unsalted butter
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or 1 bar, 3.5 oz, of Valhrona Chocolate)
1 tsp vanilla
Place chopped fruit onto a serving platter. In a medium pan (or in a double boiler) over medium heat, bring cream, sugar and butter to a boil, stirring constantly. Turn off heat and add chocolate to the mixture. Let mixture sit for 1 minute and then whisk it until smooth. Whisk in the vanilla. Pour the chocolate into a ramekin or a fondue pot and serve immediately with the fruit. Serves 2.
Note: The last pot of this fondue I made, I used 1 bar of Valhrona Semi-sweet Chocolate that I bought at Trader Joes. It is THE BEST! Make sure the fruit is dried well or the chocolate won't stick.
