Basic Beef Tenderloin
1 whole beef tenderloin
freshly ground pepper
Salt and pepper tenderloin. Let rest 30 mins at room temperature. Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Bake 5 minutes, then reduce heat to 400 degrees. Bake an additional 40 to 45 minutes, or to desired doneness. Tenderloin may also be grilled over medium heat, about 20 mins.
Beef Roasting Guide by Temperature:
Rare- 135 to 140 degrees
Medium- 155-160 degrees
Well done- 165-170 degrees
