Easy Bunuelitos (Sugared Donut Holes)
Yummy and Easy!
1 8oz package of Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls
1/2 cup granulated sugar or powdered sugar
Oil for frying (we use canola)
Heat 2-inches-deep of oil to 360 degrees in a large, heavy saucepan or fryer.
Open dough package and unroll. Pull each crescent roll triangle apart at the perforated line. Cut or pull triangles apart into 2 equal pieces, so that you'll have 16 pieces total. Form pieces lightly into balls.
Have ready a large plate covered with paper towels and a wide rimmed bowl filled with the sugar. To fry: dip a sieve or tongs into hot oil. Using the sieve/tongs, fry the balls (about 8 at a time, depending how large your frying space is) for about 2 - 3 minutes, tossing them often so they brown evenly. Drain on paper towel. Coat with sugar. Serve warm.
Makes 16 donut holes!
